Beyond motion alarms and recordings.
Most sites already have cameras, a recorder and motion alerts. Here is what changes with QVision, and how it compares with the other ways to put AI on your cameras.

What each one is good for.
Motion alarms
- How it works
- The camera or recorder raises an alert when the picture changes.
- Good for
- Empty areas with steady light.
- Where it falls short
- It can't tell a person from headlights, rain or a moving shadow, so alerts pile up and get ignored.
Record and review
- How it works
- Every camera records, and someone watches the footage after something has happened.
- Good for
- Investigations after the fact.
- Where it falls short
- Nothing happens while it's happening, and finding the moment means scrolling through hours of video.
Cloud video AI
- How it works
- Video or snapshots are sent to the vendor's cloud, where the AI runs.
- Good for
- Small sites with fast internet and no strict IT rules.
- Where it falls short
- Video leaves your sites, every camera depends on the internet, and many services only work with their own cameras.
QVision
- How it works
- The AI runs on a box on each site and acts on what it sees.
- Good for
- Industrial sites: safety, security and quality, across many sites.
- What it takes
- An edge box on each site and a hub on your network. We size both with you.
The differences that matter on site.
| The differences that matter on site. | Motion alarms | Record and review | Cloud video AI | QVision |
|---|---|---|---|---|

Decisions made as it happens, on site.
- Decided next to the camerasThe AI runs on the box on site, so a detection never waits for a trip to the cloud.
- Acts without waiting for anyoneRules sound the siren, open the barrier or stop the line on their own, while the team is told.
- The control room sees it liveIncidents appear with the snapshot and the clip the moment they're opened.
Cost-effective by design.
- Keeps the cameras you haveQVision works with the standard IP cameras most sites already own, so nothing gets replaced.
- No cloud costsVideo is analysed and stored on site: no bandwidth to upload it and no cloud storage to pay for.
- Less time chasing noiseAlerts come from people and events, not changes in the picture, and incidents arrive with the clip, so teams stop chasing false alarms and scrolling through footage.
- Grows site by siteOne hub serves every site. A new site means a new box, not another system.
Keep it. QVision works alongside.
In most cases QVision reads the same camera streams as your recorder, so your recording system stays as it is. QVision adds the detections, the rules and the responses, and keeps its own recordings on each site.
- Nothing to install on the cameras
- Your recorder keeps recording
- Detections, rules and responses on top
Questions
Do we have to replace our VMS or recorder?
No. In most cases QVision reads the same camera streams as your recorder, so your current system keeps recording as before.
Is QVision a VMS?
It records every camera on site and lets you play back and export footage, but its job is to detect what matters and act on it. Many sites run it next to their existing VMS.
Why not a cloud service?
Many industrial companies don't let site video leave their network, and remote sites often lack the bandwidth to upload it. QVision analyses and keeps video on each site, so neither gets in the way.
Will it raise fewer false alarms than motion detection?
QVision looks for people, safety gear, defects, plates and faces, not changes in the picture, so headlights, rain and moving shadows don't set it off the way they set off motion alarms.
How fast does QVision react?
As it happens. The AI runs on the box on site, and rules act the moment a detection arrives, without waiting for someone to look.
Is QVision cost-effective?
Yes. We size the boxes and the hub with you, from the cameras and detections each site needs, and there is nothing to pay for in the cloud. Teams also stop losing hours to false alarms and footage searches.
